On May 17th Channel 8 News in Lincoln surprised Mr. Hoham's classroom when they arrived with cameras rolling and announced that he had won the KLKN TV 'Favorite Teacher Contest'. Mr. Hoham had been nominated by one of his students...Jenny Seefeld. She wrote the following in her nomination: My name is Jenny Seefeld and I am a Junior at Lincoln East High School and I would like to nominate my English teacher Mr. Jeffery Hoham. Mr. Hoham has been a big influence on my life the past few years in helping me learn more about life, making it easier for me to get over the hard times and to enjoy the good times that much more, becoming one of my best friends. Also he has been able to stay a great teacher in allowing me to be the best student that I can.
News Anchor Natalie Founce presented Mr. Hoham with certificates to the Embassy Suites Hotel for a one night stay and dinner for winning the contest. A segment about the award and Mr. Hoham's classroom aired on KLKN during the week of May 21-25 at 10 p.m.
