Lincoln East boys soccer coach Jeff Hoham has been named Region 6 national coach of the year by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association.

Hoham led the Spartans to last years Class A state championship and a No. 5 national ranking. East is undefeated and ranked No. 1 this season.

In all sports, Hoham has coached 12 state championship teams in 15 years at East ã eight in boys tennis, three in girls tennis and one in boys soccer. He also was an assistant boys soccer coach in 1996 and 1997 when East won state titles.
